During its first day of operation, Coop Services yesterday has shuttled over one thousand persons from their home directly to their place of work in Valletta. There has been very positive feedback by persons who have used the service today, and more people are applying online to make use of the service, on the cooperative’s website. For this week only, the service is being offered on a trial basis to pre-booked customers, free of charge. Next week, the regular rate for the pay-per-use Home to Work Connect service will be less than €1 per trip.

Home to Work Connect is a comfortable, efficient and punctual service for people who work in Valletta. Through this scheme Coop Services picks customers from close to their home every morning and takes them right to work, and then picks them up from close to their workplace and takes them back home. This will save them time, the hassle of parking, the cost of petrol, and any CVA charges. They will also be saving on the Park and Ride tariff, which has now been introduced.

The introductory offers for the Home to Work Connect service are: 10 single-trip tickets costing €9; 20 single-trip tickets cost €17, whilst 40 single-trip tickets cost €32. This is a pay-per-use service and the pre-paid tickets have no time window. Pre-paid tickets can be used from Monday 11th July onwards.

More than five million passengers utilised the Park and Ride shuttle service to and from Valletta

At 12:30pm the last Coop Services minivan left the Park and Ride facility in Floriana to operate the last shuttle service to Valletta and back.

Over 1500 passengers daily have used Coop Services from the Park and Ride site to Valletta and vice-versa, meaning that since operations began in November 2006, the cooperative has driven more than five million passengers in and out of Valletta.

This service would not have been a success without the constant support of its customers. To show its appreciation for their patronage over the years, Coop Services offered its clients the opportunity to use the new Home to Work Connect service free of charge for a trial period of one week starting Monday. Through this scheme Coop Services will pick the customers from close to their home every morning and take them right to work, and then pick them up from close to their work place and take them right to their home.
